Scientifically named Arrabidaea Chica, Crajiru is also known as Pariri, Puçá Panga, Cipó Cruz, Paripari, Carajurú, Piranga, and Cipó-Pau. Although prevalent in the Amazon region, this plant grows in Africa and Latin America, from Mexico to Brazil.

Frequently used by the indigenous people of the Amazon, Crajiru has several benefits for the prevention and treatment of diseases. Pariri has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, healing, anti-fungal, anti-anemic, fortifying, astringent, and aphrodisiac properties. It is a natural option to help treat hemorrhages, anemia, diarrhea with or without blood, vaginal discharge, gynecological inflammations, intestinal pain, and jaundice.

You only need 3 to 4 large leaves or 2 tablespoons to a liter of water (if the leaves are in pieces). Do not boil the leaf. Boil the water and pour the boiling water over the leaves. Cover and let it cool outside the refrigerator. Drink the equivalent of one liter per day in place of water, little by little throughout the day. Do not consume tea from the day before.

Due to its astringent taste, some people prefer to take Crajiru in capsules in order not to taste the plant. In this case, look for a naturopathic doctor who can prescribe the proper dosage for you.

Pariri has very few side effects because it has a low content of toxins. However, no treatment should be done without medical advice, and no medicinal plant should be consumed in excess.
